It seems that large chunks of Colorado are aflame. A Perfect Storm of conditions has conspired to create an unmanageable scenario where homes and land are left scorched. Scores of animals are being devastated or killed. I grieve mostly for the animals. Physical homes are so easy to replace but forests are not so easy to replace if that is your home. And the sheer number of animals who must be dying is beyond my comprehension. I almost can’t think about it.

It helps that I understand that there is no death, that we are all eternal. And that animals have much less resistance to dying as they have a deeper relationship with the other side. But the physical reality of dying by fire is to me horrific and I would do anything to lesson the pain and the trauma and the effect of the fires.

I see it as a call to remember that we know how to affect this. We know that the power of our thoughts is the most powerful force on the planet. So I’m calling for everyone who reads this to take a  moment right now, just pause for a moment or two, and visualize rain pouring down on these fires. See in your minds eye the raindrops hitting the fires and watching the fires extinguish. See the relief on the animals faces as they can relax and know that everything is alright. See the firemen and women getting into their trucks to go home.

Call upon the elemental force of the wind and ask her to recede until the fires are quenched. Call upon the element of fire herself and ask her to calm now. We recognize her value and her power and we know that she also serves to cleanse. But in this moment, much harm is being inflicted by her great power and we ask her to relinquish in this moment.  And call upon the elemental force of the rain to bring forth a mighty deluge to quench the fires that burn. Nature is intelligent and it responds to our needs. There is a reason why the Native Americans would do a rain dance. Let us dance now as we set our intention to calm the fires and heal all that are affected.
