Summer Solstice 2012

Happy Solstice everyone! Here is it! Summer Solstice 2012. :)

I LOVE the solstices! There’s something about the energy in the air that I just LOVE. In the summer of course it is the longest day of the year, which is both happy and sad. I hate that the days get shorter now. But I’m so happy that we have such long beautiful warm days that I choose to live in the moment and just really embrace this very long day. I just love it.

I used to always have services here on the Solstice. We’d have picnics and do ceremonies and hang out with friends. It is a TRUE holiday and to me is a reason to take a day off of work. I also have this weird thing that I like to have my house clean on the holiday. Its sort of my way of cleaning house within myself for these power days. Its a sort of respect thing.

This year I’m going to spend the day at Serpent Mound again and you are all welcome to join me. It has become my favorite place on earth. I just love the energy there. And I love that it has this ceremonial air about it all of the time. To me it is one of the most sacred sites on earth, though I can’t WAIT for the trip to Glastonbury next May (I hope you join us!) because I’m so excited to see how different the two sites feel. We are also stopping at at Avebury in England which is the sister site to Serpent Mound! I think I’m most excited about this of all!  I hadn’t ever heard of it before the Venus Transit where I met a gentleman from England who was telling me about what an amazing place it is! So when I came home and realized that we are actually GOING there in May, I was practically jumping up and down with excitement! And since Glastonbury is the HEART CHAKRA of the planet, jeez, I can only imagine how much love is to be found there! If you want to join us for this trip, www.mindbodyspiritjourneys.com/ireland-england-2013.com. Anyway, I hope you can join us! I think there are room for 30 people and we have already had a few seats taken. My understanding is that you can even set up a payment plan with them which will make it easy if you really want to come. We have almost a year to put it in place.

For those who are looking to celebrate, you can join the festivities at Serpent Mound on Wednesday the 20th. They have an entire day of activities lined up including speakers, demonstrations, ceremonies, vendors, and even a tour with Jeff Wilson for the alignment. I’ll be there with information about IMU for anyone who wants to learn more. You can find out about the lineup of events at www.serpentmound.org. It’s really such a special place that everyone should make a pilgrimage there at some point in their life. The energy is like nothing you’ve ever felt anywhere else, I promise you. There’s just something about it that LIFTS you, like you’re in a different dimension while you’re there. On some level you leave changed by the experience.

For everyone, maybe take a few minutes and really connect with nature. Say hi to the nature spirits and give nature a big hello on these days. Its a way to celebrate the role of nature in God, which to me is a very important part.

Whatever you choose to do, Happy Solstice!
