Masters Degree in Metaphysics, Major in Consciousness Studies
Have you noticed that most education in this country is about rote learning? Students are taught to think like every other student and to study essentially the same information as every other student. It is a system designed to create an unending supply of people who all follow the same or similar paths.
At IMU, we think differently.
Our program does something that virtually no other program in the world does…it includes consciousness in the equation! While most schools work diligently to remove any vestige of consciousness from their classes, we at IMU work diligently to include it! Consciousness is, in our view at least, “the fifth force of the universe.” Without it, the other forces run rampant, each working according to their own rules. But when consciousness is added to the mix, the whole world begins to make sense.
With this in mind, we have designed a program to graduate well-rounded, emotionally-healthy, and awakened students who can think for themselves. We seek to open doors to self-understanding and enlightenment. In this program students learn the underlying laws that govern the universe and then are taught how to put them into action.
Students are taught to examine common beliefs and challenge them. And in so doing, these unique thinkers become the catalyst for change in the world.
Those who are called to this program are called here because they want to understand the nature of the universe and they want to understand their own role in it. Was I born with a purpose? Does the universe itself have a purpose? What does it take to live my fullest life and to contribute to the world in a very real way?
As a result, graduates from IMU are on the cutting-edge of new thought. They are the kind of people who are sought-after by corporations who want to do good in the world and who want to reach out to a consumer who cares about the products that they buy.
They are the kind of people who go on to start companies that make the world a better place. Others teach classes, lead brainstorming teams, start spiritual centers or churches, or write books and blogs and copy that includes a larger perspective on the world.
