Terry LivelyHH 512 Tarot

Instructor: Terry Lively

Course Description:

This course covers the history, symbolism and use of Tarot. The Tarot is a deck of cards that can be used as a tool for developing intuition, but it is more than this.

It contains symbolic images that express a mystical philosophy, a philosophy that stems from the mentors of Western culture, Pythagoras and Plato, and that has been cherished by mystics and sages over centuries.

The Tarot is a map of the spiritual universe, a mandala, divided into separate components but maintaining the pattern through the relationship of each component to another.

The insights provided by the Tarot can assist individual self-growth and show different solutions or outcomes to a particular problem.

Which Tarot deck do you recommend – and where can it be purchased?

      Hi Rudy,

I personally recommend the Rider Waite deck if you are just starting out and I think most people would agree. They are considered the sort of standard deck and most of the training that you take around tarot will focus on these cards and their particular symbology. Starting with another deck would require that you find someone who is really familiar with that particular deck and would really be a variation of the original teachings.

To me, Tarot is really a reflection of geometry and spiritual law. I know that sounds confounding but if you understand Sacred Geometry, particularly the Tree of Life and the Flower of Life, you realize that the pathways of the Tarot are the same spiritual pathways that each of us will travel through our life. If you can relate the symbology on the cards with these pathways, you can truly guide someone on a path of spiritual awakening and awareness that is the core of all things.

As far as where to get them, there are thousand places on the internet that can ship them right to your door. Unless you know of a store that sells them locally that seems like the best option to me.

    Hi Terry,

I immediately warmed to you name and have been reading tarot all my life. I have always primarilly used the Haindl Tarot card deck and have come a long way, both with these and my spiritual development, that, if you like saw an awakening through using the cards. I read to people online for free, but have never learned much of the tradition behind it, other than forming my own few opinions/outlooks/theories.The way you link and join the concepts of sacred geometry, the flower and tree of life into this amazes me and I would really like to take this course! I am enquiring and hope I can begin soon.
    Thank you!
    Greets to all at IMU,

Sorry for the tardiness of my reply. Working on a new interface, I didn’t go check my mail properly.

Thank you for your kind comments. You have years of experience and you would enjoy the class as it would fine tune your skills.

Looking forward to seeing you in class.
