CON 501 Principles of Metaphysics

In this course, students will learn the 7 Great Principles as put forth by Hermes Trismegistus, who is also known as Thoth and the “scribe of the gods”, as put forth in the 1912 publication of “The Kybalion.” These principles form the basis of all metaphysical philosophy and can be found in all major religions throughout the world. These principles, when applied, offer the serious student the ability to transmute their life through the process of alchemy (turning lead into gold). This course will introduce these principles and open the student to a world of conscious creation.

CON 502 Comparative Religion

This is a twelve (12) week course taught by Dr. James Bowman based on thirty years research into comparative religions. The study starts with spirituality in the Twenty-First Century and the foundation that religion today is mixed with societal, spiritual and historical contexts. Established religions or faiths have much in common. Examining the commonality of modern religions leads us to the differences. Although this course is an overview of world religions, what we will look at is the origin of the three major religions and how they vary. This class is a cornerstone for later spiritual study.

CON 505 Kabbalah: The Enlightened Mind

Understanding Kabbalah is like gaining an awareness of the unseen forces in life. This ancient Jewish tradition reveals the Tree of Life, emanations of the Creative Forces, planes of consciousness, divisions of our being, channels through which the Life Forces flow, as well as the angelic powers, planetary influences, messages in numbers, potency of incantations and talismans. The course includes the deep meditative passages to levels of higher consciousness that classic Kabbalists practiced and by which they received much of their enlightenment.

This course is taught by John Van Auken, a director of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, author of sixteen books, and editor of the newsletters Personal Spirituality, Ancient Mysteries, and Living in the Light. In this course, students will learn the meaning of the Mayan calendar and its connection to the evolution of consciousness. Learn the central structure of the Mayan calendar of nine Underworlds and thirteen Heavens and how they are related to the sacred calendar of 260 days, which remains the core of the system as it is presently used by the living Maya. Carl especially emphasizes how the various calendrical energies bring about shifts in consciousness and how these are related to the historical evolution of mankind leading up to October 28, 2011. In addition the use of the calendar as an astrological tool will be taught.

The Mayan calendar is different from all other calendars in fundamental ways. First, it is not based on astronomical cycles and secondly it does not reflect continuous time. Rather it is a description of how sequences of cosmic energies are driving evolution in different processes from seed to mature fruit. Since these stepwise processes are empirically verifiable it becomes clear to the student of this calendar that we are taking part in a cosmic time plan which has a direction. Hence, the Mayan calendar traces the very basis of prophecy and clarifies where we will be going in the time ahead.

It is relevant to note that Dr. Calleman put forth the theory that the Mayan Calendar ended on October 28, 2011.

CON 601 The Purposeful Universe

For a fairly long time modern science has presented a view of the universe as fundamentally fragmented, where its different aspects has been studied by different disciplines such as physics, chemistry and biology. This fragmentation differs from the essentially holistic view that the ancient peoples of our planet adhered to which was unified by elements that some would today call mythological or religious. We are however now living in a time where it is again possible to bring the different elements of our understanding in a new and unified view where everything is connected and evolves in purposeful way. This course discusses the wide ranging ramification of the rediscovery of science in 2003 of the Cosmic Tree of Life as a unifying origin of all evolution and helps us understand our purpose in this larger context.

CON 602 Transitions of the Soul: Life, Death, and All that Follows

There are few concepts that are Universal – that is, held by all people throughout recorded history. One such concept is that of the soul. All cultures of which we have record, have believed in something intangible; something apart from the body that defines human existence. The nature, function and behavior of that intangible essence, and what happens to it after death, vary greatly from culture to culture and theology to theology; but the affirmation that there is an energetic whole that exists separately from the body and encapsulates the human experience is one that has been held by all peoples throughout recorded time.

Transitions of the Soul asks the questions: “What is the essence of humankind; is it divine, and will it continue after this body dies?” Employing the vehicles of theology, anthropology, psychology and physics, we will begin in the ancient civilizations of Sumeria, Babylon, and Egypt, and take a wondrous journey in exploration of those answers through the prism of perspective that spans from antiquity to modern day. Arriving at our 21st century mélange, where traditional indigenous practices mount resurgence and mega-religions redefine themselves while quantum physics and string theory make the line between science and what we would call Magick, Medicine, or the physical manifestation of Spirit ever more difficult to discern. Transitions of the Soul endeavors to cross the sea of sacred and secular thought surrounding what are perhaps humankind’s greatest inquiries.

CON 604 Basic Principles of the Law of One

The L/L Research group received the Law of One material in the early 1980s, and it has become a classic in the field of consciousness research. However, it is not easy to read. In 2010 I wrote an entry-level book, Living the Law of One 101: The Choice to give seekers an easier run at the material. This will be the text for this class.

In “Basic Principles of the Law of One”, students will learn about unity, free will, love, and light as well as exploring the ways of polarity and the functions and use of the energy body. A student entering this course can expect to learn how to graduate from third density, the Density of Choice, and go on to fourth density, the Density of Love. I have found the principles of this philosophy to be very helpful in my own life, and I look forward to sharing this information and inspiration with you.

The Al-chemia Remedies were made in Egypt a very ancient place, vibrating with ancient wisdom through the voice of our teachers, the flowers. They speak and translate into form the vibrations and wisdom present around us. Flowers are the symbol of Divine unfolding into manifestation. A seed is planted and grows to its highest most beautiful potential, and then blossoms into a flower, absolute beauty, divinity in physical form. By capturing their energy in the matrix of water we can use it for our own conscious evolution, to activate our ‘sleeping’ DNA and break old and ancient patterns, to become whole, to unfold and blossom into our highest potential fully alive on every level of existence.

In this course you will begin with the basics, the understanding of energy, vibration, water and how remedies work. We will then build on this base and study the flowers, and the remedies themselves. We will learn how to choose a suitable remedy, make a preparation, methods of application and finally bring to consciousness the action of the remedy through evaluation. Students will first work with the remedies on themselves, to have personal experience of their action and then be asked to do case studies using volunteers in order to see the action of the remedies in different situations. Think of it as an owners manual for the wondrous vehicle you use to get around this planet. We will cover major organ systems, their location and functioning.

In this comprehensive course you will learn the art and science of manual muscle testing to determine where energetic blockages which can cause stress and pain are located in the body. You will acquire several practical holistic skills for clearing these energy blockages to alleviate pain and clear mental and emotional stress. Aromatherapy is an ancient art dating back more than 6000 years, to the times of the Pharaohs. Until this day Egypt remains the largest producer of quality essential oils. We will look at oils originally produced in Egypt as well as others bringing together the past and the present. Participants are free to use any essential oils they choose.

This course will give you an over view of Aromatherapy as well as show you how to safely use essential oils in your everyday life to enhance health and well-being. HH 515 Emotional Freedom Technique Certification Workshop

The Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT or energy tapping, is an amazing process for healing the emotions and the subsequent pain or illness that manifests as a result of blocked or imbalanced emotions. This course is for students who have mastered a particular healing technique through live training with an IMU approved instructor and/or program, including those not available through IMU. It allows students to explore a wide variety of holistic healing techniques through practicum experiences. Through the Live Training Practicum, students may study a wide variety of protocols from credentialed teachers in a live workshop format and through the inclusion of a practicum get college credit. This course allows students to apply the knowledge learned in the workshop format. Training must be approved by IMU.

Astrology is the oldest science in the world. This course covers the fundamentals of astrology, and its history. Explanation as to why astrology has survived as well as an in-depth look at the sun signs, moon signs, rising signs and their elements. Students will be expected to recognize and draw the different astrological and planetary glyphs, have a clear understanding of sun signs and moon signs, understand planetary influences and the astrological houses.

Understand the history, symbolism and use of Tarot. The Tarot is a deck of cards that can be used as a tool for developing intuition, but it is more than this. It contains symbolic images that express a mystical philosophy, a philosophy that stems from the mentors of Western culture, Pythagoras and Plato, and that has been cherished by mystics and sages over centuries. The Tarot is a map of the spiritual universe, a mandala, divided into separate components but maintaining the pattern through the relationship of each component to another.

The paranormal coexists very comfortably with religious belief, and this draws strength from the fact that modern religious institutions no longer adequately answer the simple questions of “Are they okay? Will I be okay?” any student of folklore will tell you that all our religions had their origins in (for all intents and purposes) the paranormal. In this course, author Paul Eno examines the fundamental role that religion plays in not only the history of the paranormal, but also what place religion plays in the modern understanding of the hidden and the unexplained.

PAR 505 Mental Illness and the Paranormal

Paul Eno writes, “As a graduate student of abnormal psychology decades ago, I would sometimes observe and work with schizophrenics and others with serious psychoses. Also a student of the paranormal, I began to ask questions nobody else seemed to be asking. At Ogdensburg State Hospital in New York or Norwich State Hospital in Connecticut, I would often catch such knowing looks in the eyes of these patients! On a few occasions, their conditions would be accompanied by apparent paranormal activity witnessed by hospital staff.” In this course, Paul Eno examines the relationship between paranormal activity and mental illness, how to tell one from the other, and what to do when the two are intertwined. There will be a complete treatment of “demonic possession” from the clinical standpoint, and of the possibilities for multiple, simultaneous lives.

PAR 511 Ghost-Hunting Techniques

Students who enroll in this course will be taught the proper methods of ghost investigation beginning with the interview process with how to conduct a proper interview to which questions to ask. We will then progress to the investigation itself and how to set up the actual investigation, proper use of paranormal gadgets, spirit photography through the use of both 35mm, digital cameras and camcorders. A session on EVP (electronic voice phenomena) will include how to record a session properly without outside contamination and equipment interference. Finally a session will inform the students of how to analyze their findings to writing up the final report with any collected evidence to return back to their clients. Additional sessions will touch on early ghost investigators and how techniques have changed through the centuries, to famous cases investigated and concluded and what their results were. A history of paranormal research will begin so that students will see the progression to current standards.

PAR 603 Spirit Detachment, Home and Business Clearing

SHA 504 Shamanic Pathwork & Psychopomp Work

This course will cover shamanic path-work as an advanced form of shamanic journeywork for self and others. Emphasis on the path-work will be on assisting others as they make the powerful transition from life to the after death realms. This is called shamanic psycho-pomp work. Other advanced methods of shamanic healing will also be explored in order to give the shamanic healing practitioner a well-rounded tool kit for their healing work.

SHA 505 Shamanic and Native American Crystal Healing

This form of shamanic Reiki combines the energies of Reiki with the teachings, techniques, and symbols of the Toltec/Mayan shamanic cultures of Mexico. It is a form of hands-on healing that is designed to introduce spiritual seekers and energetic healers to the basic concepts, energies, and techniques of the Toltec Nagual Shamans of Central & Southern Mexico, the Yucatec/Mayan shamans, and the Moundbuilder energies from North America (who are descendants of the Naguals of ancient Mexico) combined with the energies of the original Japanese Usui Reiki. This class is excellent for anyone who is interested in learning reiki or honing their reiki skills. It is an excellent way to “pump up the volume” on the skills you already have as reiki healer in any of the other traditions or to learn something brand new. This is an excellent class for anyone who is interested in learning shamanism or who will be taking the Shamanic Studies training through IMU. Toltec Nagual Reiki was created in 2007 by Chojal Nohol (Rev. Randall Hastings) after more than 25 years of continued study, initiations, and practice in Toltec/Mayan Nagual shamanism, 30 years of Chinese Qigong practice, and over 10 years practice as a Master/Teacher of many different forms of Reiki. SHA 605 Ho’oponopono

Ho’oponopono is a simple yet effective healing process that has been used by the Hawaiians for thousands of years. The goal of Ho’oponopono can be found by breaking down the term: ho’o—to make, do, create; pono—balance, goodness, correctness, perfect order; onopono—a method of creating perfect order and balance in order to heal a situation.

Through discussion, prayer, honesty, ceremony, and forgiveness, Ho’oponopono offers the ability to heal on mental, intra-personal, physical, temporal, and spiritual levels. Ho’oponopono also helps you to reconnect with your family (ohana as the Hawaiians call it), loved ones, and those with which you are/have been in connection.

In SHA605, you will learn this Hawaiian spiritual counseling technique for achieving balance in relationships and situations of many kinds. Additionally, you will use your shamanic journeying skills to observe the results of Ho’oponopono.

In the course, we will learn basic Hawaiian spiritual concepts, review the Ho’oponopono method including history, concepts, ritual and ceremony, and integrate this teaching into the student’s current shamanic practices. Students will select three real-life cases and put these principles to work.

They make an impressive impact on the people they visit and take away for an hour or two of time. This requires a profound adjustment in their view of reality. These people benefit from specialized help such as recalling details of their encounters through hypnotic regressions, and from counseling by a therapist well acquainted with and appreciative of this anomalous, puzzling phenomenon.
