A proper study of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) is a broad undertaking, involving many separate disciplines. Unfortunately, there are very few college-level courses that deal with this subject at all. Fewer still that make an effort to cover it in a balanced manner, and probably none that address the full spectrum of issues related to it.

This is a comprehensive overview of the UFO phenomenon for people of the 21st century. It provides up-to-date information and analysis relating to the full history of UFOs, from ancient times to our own era, focusing on the most significant and instructive cases. But there is much more to this course.

We will be dealing with political issues, such as the history of the U.S. government and military/intelligence community in relation to UFOs. That is, we will analyze the cover-up. In so doing, we will find that UFOs pose a serious problem to that community, one that its members may not be handling as well as they would like. We may also conclude that at least some of the UFOs people are seeing are made by “us.”

We will also study philosophical and investigative problems brought about by UFOs, including how ordinary objects and events might fool us, and how they differ from “true UFOs.” Moreover, in an age of Internet, of Facebook and Youtube, when information practically overwhelms us, we will discuss how to separate fact from fiction, legitimate issues from fear-mongering or fantasy-peddling.

Then there are issues pertaining to science and technology. To the extent that these objects are craft, how do they operate? How is it that these beings often seem to have a mind-to-mind communication with us? What does that mean about human consciousness? What can a study of UFOs teach us about physics, dimensions, and the structure of our reality?

We must not forget the beings behind the phenomenon, whoever and whatever they are. For this course, we will assess the history and claims of contact, try to understand the nature of that contact, and perhaps puzzle out just who and what we are dealing with.

Finally, this course will try to peer into the future. We will look at the recent history of the “Disclosure” movement, analyze the difficulties and opportunities of ending UFO secrecy, and try to see what a post-Disclosure world might look like—the ultimate revolutionary experience.

Richard Dolan is considered by many students of the UFO phenomenon to be the pre-eminent historian of the subject.

He is the author of two volumes of history, UFOs and the National Security State, as well as an analysis of the future, A.D. After Disclosure: The People’s Guide to Life After Contact.

Richard’s writing is widely seen as ufology’s gold standard. His seminal history, UFOs and the National Security State, has inspired such statements as “the best history ever written about UFOs” by best-selling author Whitley Strieber, and “masterful and important” by Dr. Edgar Mitchell of Apollo 14.

A.D. After Disclosure, which Richard co-authored with Bryce Zabel (creator of the television series Dark Skies), has been widely hailed as among the most original works in all of UFO literature, a fearless and analytical “what if” scenario that discusses the deep impact that would be brought about by the end of UFO secrecy.

Among Richard’s main themes are the destruction of our political liberties as a result of the UFO cover-up, the possible nature of the non-humans themselves, and what their presence here means for our civilization. This has led him to take a fresh approach to the topic of “Exopolitics” and to develop unique insights into the practical challenges and opportunities for a true disclosure of the UFO phenomenon.

Richard has also written numerous articles, spoken at conferences around the world, is a frequent guest on radio shows such as Coast-to-Coast AM, and has done a great deal of television work. In 2006 he hosted a six-episode series called SciFi Investigate. More recently, he appeared with NBC’s Lester Holt for a special two-hour documentary, “Inside Secret Government Warehouses: Shocking Revelations.”

Richard was born in Brooklyn, New York, studied at Alfred University and Oxford University, was a finalist for a Rhodes scholarship, and completed his graduate work in history at the University of Rochester. Prior to his interest in UFOs, he studied U.S. Cold War strategy, Soviet history and culture, and international diplomacy.

Richard lives in Rochester, New York, with Karyn Dolan and their two children.

Up to speed on UFOs, intelligent visitors? Revised ‘A.D. After Disclosure’ book set for May release

Because there is now more awareness about indications that Earth is being visited by intelligent beings from elsewhere, maybe it’s time to read the new, updated version the book of “A.D. After Disclosure” by Richard Dolan and Bryce Zabel. The updated book is due to be released in May by New Page Books of Career Press.
Publication of the original book in October 2010 presented a rich overview of the state of research into the UFO phenomenon and apparently-related activities. According to the authors, the revised book will have additional information, more photos and “new thinking.”
The new version of the book also has a revised subtitle: “When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth About Alien Contact.”
And, the authors focus on how greater understanding by the general public about these circumstances might affect people around the world. “A.D. After Disclosure: When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth About Alien Contact” will be available has a hard copy as well as an e-book.
HISTORY, HOLLYWOOD, AWARENESS NOW
Historian Dolan and Hollywood writer and producer Zabel teamed up to write the book in their ongoing efforts to learn more about this intriguing situation and pass on what they have discovered. They explore the effects of secrecy and security about the UFO phenomena and how this has played out in American and international society.
Dolan is a well-known speaker and the author of the historical book series “UFOs and the National Security State.”
Zabel is a former TV journalist who later transformed into a Hollywood writer and producer, serving as past chairman of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Leveraging their backgrounds and years of research into the fascinating and somewhat concerning topics surrounding the UFO phenomena, Dolan and Zabel created a comprehensive view of the complex and sometimes surprising elements apparently in play. “A.D. After Disclosure” looks at facts, alleged facts and possibilities that we should probably consider.
Are intelligent beings from other planets and/or dimensions visiting Earth? How long have they been doing so? Are they friendly, neutral or hostile? What are their activities here? Have the U.S. and international governments been handling the situation in a competent way? What are the scientific implications? These are some of the questions the authors ask and attempt to answer.
BEING PREPARED
Importantly, how does this situation affect all of us, our children and families, our communities and the human race on planet Earth? What changes will occur as understanding increases about these circumstances?
Dolan and Zabel explore various possible developments from public announcements by government officials to the less dramatic but equally-significant gradual improvement in public awareness about these topics.
Because the UFO situation and related factors are reportedly sensitive national security concerns, readers will note that the authors take safety considerations into account. They freely admit that the truth about some aspects of the situation may be challenging or difficult and robust secrecy and security are understandable.
Yet, they also seem to recognize that the separate and probably complementary issue of increased public knowledge is also very important. Dolan and Zabel seem to have reasonable faith that the American people and humans around the world will be able to handle these discoveries. So, they lay it on the table for readers to see, to consider and to come to their own conclusions.
How we respond to the ideas and facts about this UFO-and-visitation situation will depend on human psychology, emotions and spiritual viewpoints. Another important factor examined by Dolan and Zabel is how the entertainment and news media has handled this subject so far and how their treatment of it could change significantly.
Being prepared for developments, whether sudden or gradual, about UFOs and visitors is something that the authors appear to believe is important for safety and positive outcomes for humanity.
