Independent Spiritualist Ordination Program

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course provides a foundation of spiritual knowledge for personal and professional growth and provides a platform for the exploration of consciousness. Also, on a more fundamental level, it will guide you in the art of spiritual counseling and the ethical, moral and legal boundaries that you need to be aware of as an ordained minister who counsels others. You will also learn the basics necessary for any Spiritualist or Metaphysical minister such as the history of spiritualism and how to create and lead a Spiritualist Church Service.

At the completion of this course you will receive a Certificate of Ordination as an Independent Spiritualist Minister with all legal rights, and responsibilities, from the International Metaphysical University.

COURSE DETAILS

Required Text/Materials:

No extra materials are required, everything you need is included inside the classroom via audio lectures and downloadable documents.

The course has nine lessons and is designed so that students can easily complete one lesson per week. However, you can work at your own pace to some extent. We do ask that you try your best to complete the program within 12 weeks. You may, of course, complete it sooner than 9 weeks.

Course Objectives:

through the study of :

  • Spiritualism
  • Spiritual Counseling
  • Ethics
  • The Power of Language
  • Ascension
  • Forgiveness
  • Pastoral Rites and Ceremonies
  • Emotional Awareness
  • Creating and Leading a Spiritualist church service

Assessments:

  • Students will take a quiz for each lesson and reading assignment.
  • Students will complete assignments for each lesson covering topics from the lectures. 
  • Students will create and record services that include an opening prayer, offering prayer, closing prayer, guided meditation, and inspirational talk.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Janet Decker

Janet Decker is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, a certified Hypnoanesthesia therapist, and a qualified forensic hypnotist. She is also a hypnotherapy instructor and author.

Janet Decker received her training from the Institute of Ethical and Clinical Hypnosis in Washington DC. She received her specialty certification in hypnotic anesthesia from the National Board of Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic Anesthesiology in Arizona. Ms. Decker is qualified in 2 Energy Therapy techniques, EFT and BSFF and is a Master Reiki practitioner. She has lectured extensively on the topic of “Hypnosis, Myth or Magic” and she has been published in “The Journal of Hypnotism”. She is an ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church in Modesto, CA. and was ordained into the Melchizedek Priesthood – Circle of the White Dove, June 2008.

Ms. Decker is a past member of the Board for the Development of the Mind/Body and Women’s Programs at Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown, MD. And a past member of the Development committee for the “Certificate of Energy Healing” Program at Hagerstown Community College. She is a Faculty member holding a position of instructor and mentor for the Maryland Seminary for Holistic Studies.

Ms. Decker has been an Instructor of Hypnosis/hypnotherapy, meditation and other spiritual practices, spiritual development, psychic and intuitive development within various mind/body/spirit programs in educational systems at both the high school and college/university levels in MD, PA, VA, WV and Washington, D.C. for over 25 years.

She is a Co-creator of the “Angel Guidance Board” (The Angel Guidance Board is no longer in production however it may be viewed on the “Museum of Talking Boards” Website: http://www.museumoftalkingboards.com/gal7.html).

She is a Member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the American Association of Behavioral Therapists and the United Metaphysical Churches.

Ms. Decker is currently in private practice in Jackson, Maine. She continues her work in the creation of new Hypnosis CD titles for the retail market as well as teaching, mentoring and lecturing.
